Why a Co-op?

Telluride Power is designed to be a co-op, a way of conducting business that allows people, groups and organizations to interact in a variety of ways. As our infrastructure begins to take root, there will be both non-profits and small corporations, governments, universities and individuals sole proprieters, and a range of partnerships that come together in each town, each rural filler, in each city to make a hydrogen future real today.

For individuals, there is the opportunity to support an infrastructure through
membership dues that feed our educational efforts. As a member you accrue "conversion points" that equate to a savings on hydrogen powered vehicles. Currently, these include hydrogen modifications on Toyota V6 and V8 engines and GM V-8s through our partner Intergalactic Hydrogen. Creative conversion of the internal combustion engine allows us to utilize emerging hydrogen production methods to support a small fleet of zero-emmission vehicles today! When burning hydrogen, our engines become more efficient, they last longer, gain power and can use the same lubricating fluid for over 40,000 miles, further reducing the impact of driving!

As more unique designs for hydrogen-fueled transportation and home power develop, Telluride Power will include them. Keep watch for the env bike wherever we place a station.

The design for the first station in our system is almost complete, and the official sketch drawing will be posted when it's ready. Located in Telluride, CO this fueler will be the proof of concept for our fueling infrastructure throughout the four corners.

Through the implementation of a co-operative arrangement to produce, deliver and utilize hydrogen based energy, Telluride Power will take the lead, introducing a cleaner, healthier future. This vision has already spread through the state to Durango and Aspen, poising Colorado to become the first region to host an operational Hydrogen infrastructure on the Earth. I hope you'll find this website helpful, and will join us in making Hydrogen vehicle fuel a reality!

Taking Hydrogen Fuel to new Heights

On September 15, 2004 the team from Intergalactic Hydrogen and Telluride Power drove a hydrogen fueled vehicle to 13,210 feet above sea level while crossing Imogene Pass between Telluride and Silverton. This rugged Rocky Mountain jeeping road put Tai Robinson's conversion to the ultimate test in grade, ambient air pressure, and duration through several long scrambles past the Tomboy mining ghost town. Endurance Racing across the USA - Summer 2005

This summer a team from Telluride Power will enter the Rama Road Rally, a 24 day stage race zig-zagging across the Lower 48. The ultra-clean exhaust of the conversion package installed by Intergalactic Hydrogen will provide a unique angle to gain special attention in the nationally televised competition. Along the route, our team will share the most up-to-date knowledge concerning hydrogen implementation. Obviously, we need some help to prepare. Read more here...
